Thank you for this hopeful report. Now, we could use some sign that Democrats are doing some advance work on the next election, as well as a couple of smart, resourceful, savvy, decent potential Democrat presidential candidates.

I think the basic principle is this: People remember when Trump harms them or threatens them. We may have to ignore most of Trump’s actions — but constantly call attention to how Americans are suffering from billionaires like him. I believe that is all that people need to process to turn against him.

Thanks for the link to all 15 posts about Project Democracy! Loved reading about the ratings drop...one after the other.

As Chris has assured us several times, Trump will be president until 2029, unless nature intervenes. So, by “down,” I presume you’re referring to something else. Maybe his GOP Congress critters will become less slavish perhaps?

BUT: Republicans who are motivated to vote will still vote Republican. The task remains the same: every Dem needs to vote, and most of the Dem resources s/be focused on demotivating those who are not Trump true believers. They will never vote for Dems -- but they might stay home or make a protest vote.

Marjorie Taylor Greene going woke and realizing that Republicans and Trump have corrupted the MAGA movement for their own enrichment is proof that enlightenment is possible. We don't need to convince 10% of Republicans (of all stripes) to vote for Dems. We just need to convince 2-3% that voting for Republicans isn't better than voting for Dems. Right now Republicans are doing a lot of the work for us.

Can that be done? We will see, maybe.

Hoping all Dems will vote and hoping that some of those who voted for Trump in 2024 will vote Dem in 2028 is too much Hopium for me. We need to demotivate Republicans -- not tilt at the windmill that is flipping their vote.

Release the Epstein files! I turn every conversation I have with my conservative friends and family members toward a release the files discussion. Yep -- I'm a lot of fun at parties, too!

I'm sincerely hoping one way or another that Chump doesn't make it to 2029 as president. Obviously being here on substack I'm outraged by the buffoon but I hope others who aren't see at least some of the light soon. A good article. Thank you.
