Also lucky for Trump that the President is the Commander in Chief of a military with a long tradition of staying out of politics. In any other system, a weak strongman is quickly deposed by his generals, and if he is lucky, escapes with his money to some exile in a sunny clime. Ah…but here in the Land of the Free, we have to wait 4 long years to vote him out, unless a cheeseburger gets him first.

Do not underestimate the potential of the cheeseburger!

Those cheeseburgers have already caused cognitive decline. They're coming for the rest of the cardiovascular system next!

This time we don't have to worry about voting him out - he will be ineligible to run again as that would constitute a 3rd term. The Reps got that changed when they were so afraid that Truman might be elected to a 3rd term. Then, many of them were sorry they had done so as they thought Eisenhower probably could have been elected a 3rd time... , kinda like the 'day after' hangover! OMG, what have we done?

Really like this cogent and straightforward analysis

Extremely interesting point about the differences between a prime minister and a US president. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how that plays out.
