Again, Dems are behaving like Repubs do when they cannot accept reality. Biden has lots of physical problems that include his inability to speak well at this time, his lack of strength to fight & to counter a felon in debate. This may be our last chance at preserving our Freedoms! We all love Biden, and his past politically has been superior, but past is past, and to stay on this history will be tragic for all of us!

He has given us the evidence that he will not be able to stay strong, to be strong in the fight for Democratic life! He will lose, and those who commit themselves to the false comfort of not convincing him that he must GIVE UP, will leave us to live in Putin's world! Dems are now stubbon in their defense of him. He will now ruin his own history and toss us into an ugly existence for the rest of our lives because of his ego...............

But what logically follows from that: if Dems do what we need to and vote for the Dem nominee, the other stuff can be sorted out later. Replacing Biden isn’t job one. Voting for the Dem nominee is what matters. Will we? Stay tuned.

Why can't I finish what I am trying to write here?

The real problem here is that Biden is clearly displaying Parkinsonian symptoms, be they normal age-related things or not. Unlike Republicans, Dems are not good at creating total reality distortion fields -- we're legitimately concerned. Dems like me will vote for the Dem nominee, whomever it happens to be. But, 2016 Dems who voted for Jill Stein or didn't vote, and younger Dems are an unknown.

Crossing my fingers that a Michael Dukakis-type can win this, Matt -- if it comes to that!

Looking forward to your P2025 article -- thanks!

Well, it's a team. I think the team is clearly capable of running the country. But, in the event of a crisis at night, I'd bet $100 that he would be as capable individually as Dubya was during 9/11 when he continued to read The Pet Goat to a class of second graders after being informed that the second tower had been struck.

Anyone who has watched a relative slide into Parkinson's, dementia (or, in my case, Parkinson's-caused dementia) knows how this story ends and that Biden is less than four years away from an unhappy ending in terms of his ability to be POTUS (same as Reagan was unable to function capably).

The Dem machine will decide what is best for the country, as Matt said. We will have to hope they are right.

But, real Dems just have to vote for the Dem nominee in November -- the only rational path forward.
