Life in Activism: There Is Only One Way Out of Trump's Second Term
Prepare for a difficult grind through January 2029

Ever since it launched nine months ago, I have read every single reply to every single email I have sent out on Bowers News Media (which, for those of you who don't know, is the news and action email list associated with Wolves and Sheep). As I have read the roughly 15,000 emails that have come my way during that time, there has consistently been a desire for some sort of quick fix to our Trumpian political moment, a kind of “one simple trick” that would defeat Donald Trump once and for all.
What simple tricks have been suggested? Before the election they tended to focus on just ruling Donald Trump ineligible to run. During the transition, they focused on ruling Trump ineligible retroactively, proving that the election was fraudulent, arresting him, or simply refusing to certify his election. Now, the emails talk mostly about impeachment and vague calls for “removing” him from office.
I know many of you enjoy my writing because it provides you with a sense of reassurance during these difficult times, so I am going to warn you right now that this article might not provide that same type of reassurance. This is because there is no quick fix, no one simple trick that will provide a quick end to Donald Trump's second presidency.
To state it simply: Donald Trump is not going to be removed from office. The only way out of his second term is through a long, slow, daily grind, one that will last all the way through January 20, 2029.
Below the fold, for paid subscribers, I explain why Trump's second term will go the distance, along with steps you can take to build up your endurance so that you can make it through his second term, too.
