I agree with all that is said here, but feel you have not factored in the increase in voting purging, suppression and other tricks the GOP will institute in the next four years.

Actually, I have. All of the tricks that Republicans used over the last two decades don't work anymore, and actually favor Dems now. This is, once again, because Democrats now dominate high propensity voters, and Republicans low propensity voters. So, if they make it harder to vote, that hurts them now.

I hope you are right and I understand the point more for the suppression tactics, but it seems that the purging criteria is so selective that our voters are purged much more than their voters are purged.

What you’ve described sounds like the usual see-saw, with one party replacing the other every few years. Progress, then regression, ad infinitum. There is much to be done, but we’re locked in a constant struggle to hold onto what we have.

I want to commend you on your ability to explain the happenings during this crazy time. I am curious, did this writing precede the Friday 1/31 gutting of the FBI & DOJ? I personally don’t see how our government can continue “as usual “ after this shocking attempt to continue to dismantle our democracy.

I intend to mention that in an action email tomorrow.

Harris lost because the Party Of Putin (aka; Republican Party) suppressed the votes of hundreds of thousands of people in every “swing” state and Trump, once in office again, turned the government over to two immigrants from South Africa, Elon Musk and Peter Thiel, who are now running it. Republicans in control anymore. Our democracy died last November 5th and was “buried” on January 20th. There will be no elections in 2026 or 2028. Musk won’t allow them to happen.

Well said. The sky is falling but its not because of Democrats.

Thanks. This makes me feel better and it is even true.

What do we do if they shut down elections?

First, allow me to be polite, and thank you for being a paid subscriber. However, I will also add that I do not understand questions like this. If they cancel elections, that would mean they are just going to rule without laws, by military dictatorship. And, I don't know why anyone would think I have a plan to overthrow a lawless military dictatorship. Again, thank you for being a paid subscriber.

Gee, sorry if I offended, but I think it was a legitimate question. Thank you for being polite, I would not expect otherwise. Some of us are observing that they are already ruling without regard for our laws. We might have to overthrow a lawless military dictatorship before it's over.

I will just say that engaging in the overthrow of military dictatorships is beyond the purview of my pundtrity and activism. That's not an area where I have any advice or help on offer
