If, by “cut him loose” you mean impeach and convict, I’d pay to watch that shitshow. Then we get JD whatever-his-name-is-this-week as Catholic-in-Chief. Hegseth, minus the good judgement. Puhleeze!!
I'm not sure which is worse—Trump, who obviously doesn't know what he's doing, or Vance, who is actually smarter and more cunning. I haven't decided, but I don't think Vance would've threatened to destroy a whole civilization
It's an interesting question. It is unquestionably true that the clown doesn't know what he's doing, and is a moron. He's so stupid that more or less anyone is smarter. That is likely to include JD. And JD is part of the entourage who know that their primary job is to tell the clown how wonderful, brilliant, and entitled he is. And you're probably right that JD is more cunning, and for the same reason as is the clown: self-promotion and grifting. But I've seen clips of him saying such boneheaded things that it's hard to think of him as cunning. Not to mention his attempt to feel up Erika Kirk in public, which is unlikely to have made his wife happy.
And no, I agree with you that he would not have threatened to destroy a whole civilization, but it's not because he's smart or cunning. It's because he has no reason to, and doesn't really care. The clown had two reasons: 1) keep the focus off Epstein, and 2) be Bibi's good bitch. JD doesn't have either of those motivations.
The clown is probably incapable, and definitely indisposed, regarding admitting he's made mistakes, or even changing what he's doing without admitting the failures. And we've watched him handle the blowback: he just lies, and says it's the opposite of what it is.
DeSantis is an interesting creature. He played baseball in school, then went to law school, at an Ivy League school, I think, but still thinks like an athlete, and not like an intelligent and legally trained person.
As for Blair, he can't talk, or dance, his way out of this: of course it's a referendum on the clown.
And how several surveys show mid to upper 30%s approval for the clown is a complete mystery. I would be very surprised if mid to upper 30 PEOPLE approved of him.
The clown is a perfect example of not taking advice: when you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
It's true that the Republican Party should cut the clown loose. But he's not bringing them down. He's already brought them down. With their active or passive enabling.
And the destruction goes on and on. Now with Trump planning to rob naturalized citizens of their citizenship at the rate of 200 a month he and the GOP stand to certainly lose 22 million more votes (plus votes from the families and friends of those people).
Inflation peaked in 2022 and was *still* a political liability for Dems in 2024 despite the fact that Biden and Co. did their damndest to bring it under control. Can we honestly expect the GOP to achieve any great policy wins or put forth any genuine efforts to address cost of living in the next 6 months?
I know it's very early to make predictions, but I am expecting the blue wave in the House to be at least as big if not bigger than 2018. We gained 41 seats that cycle and we also have (very broadly speaking, and notwithstanding the eventual net gains/losses of the gerrymandering wars) fairer congressional maps in place now than we did in 2018.
Excellent post Matt! But I don’t think that any of them have the guts to do it. They are so terrified of him and I’ve never seen that of anyone with any president at all. so it is a cult and they just have to be deprogrammed and that’s the only way they’re gonna ever cut him loose.
Keep posting, Matt. So many want 🔥 and Brimstone in posts against 🍊 IT. Continue with your facts and figures and even keel assessment.

I've lost track. When you say "Hegseth, minus good judgment," which of them do you think has good judgment?
Oy.

Shellacking is right.

Exxellent!
