I’m joined again by Chris Bowers to talk about the policy and political implications of this year’s congressional elections. How much will small margins and conflicting political interests hinder the revolutionary legislative plans hatched in the Heritage Foundation? Democrats did quite well down ballot, making modest gains in the House and preventing a Republican landslide in the Senate by holding on to four seats in states where the Harris/Walz ticket fell short. The result is a narrow Republican Senate majority and a thin House majority that Chris and I believe could frustrate some of Donald Trump’s worst legislative initiatives. We look at what this might mean in practice and how it could set up Democrats for a legislative comeback in the next midterm election.
