Thanks for the encouraging insights you have offered us today. We need to remain united and resolute, never turn our backs on the people who would do us harm, and keep planning for the future. We will turn this ship around!

While I appreciate the sentiment, unorganized, sporadic work stoppages won't actually help anyone. They will just get a lot of people fired, with cause.

I have never encouraging anyone to engage in protest behavior that could get them arrested or fired, and I am not going to start now. We have other means of protesting that won't get people hurt.

I so look forward to reading these very encouraging emails; keeps me hopeful and determined in these chaotic and insane early days. Thanks, Chris.

"Trump has never said that he was going to cancel elections and seize control via the military, and honestly I think that is because he has no intention of doing so. Attempting it could cost him his fortune, his prestige, his power, even his life. It's just a crazy, ridiculous risk that he is not going to bother engaging in." Slight correction: Trump did say if people voted for him in the November election, we'd never need to vote again. As for seizing control via the military, he has implied it or made it explicit many times that he would do just that.

Please address the effect of the Supreme Court ruling that the president has immunity from prosecution for anything he does as a part of his "official acts" as president. Isn't this exactly what he will fall back on if the lawsuits proceed through the court system?

Somebody needs to be thinking about what to do if First Felon (or Musk) disregard court rulings. This scenario appears less far fetched by the day.

A sense of ironic humor can be salutary during the purgatorial days of 47's tenure. The courts are controlling t's mad efforts, for now, and if the American people continue waking up, speaking up and acting up, I like our chances of overcoming sooner or later. Remember that the main body of voters identify as independent. Add those who identify as Ds and you get a majority. Courage!

It's still early in the year. Republicans have introduced a bill SAVE which is a vote suppression bill that basically requires a passport or presenting a birth certificate. Elon Musk can show up anywhere, or a group of Proud Boys intent on 'protecting the vote'

Thank for your efforts to quell my anxiety. I believe much of what we hear is catastrophizing, but I would like your opinion on whether trump will ignore court rulings blocking some of his unconstitutional actions. I know many of his sycophants are advising him to do this, which would truly create a Constitutional crisis (which I believe we are already in).

Thank you for filling in for Matt today. I’m sorry he’s still under the weather. But reading your encouraging words actually helps. Trump and Elon both suck sorry about my language. But thanks for your encouragement!

Here in Missouri there will be an election in April for mayor of St. Louis. Our motto here is "all politics is racial." The incumbent is black, the challenger is white and lesbian. The incumbent will lose, with a current favorability of 20%.

far fetched admittedly: Putin model of power control-install V.P. Vance as president short of definition of this term fulfilled, becoming V.P himself by Vance, being reinstalled as President upon Vance resignation, running for "second term" to be president in 2029.
