On today’s Wolves and Sheep podcast we’re doing our monthly dive into the state of the election. Since our last update in mid-May, the presumptive Republican nominee has officially entered the criminal justice system, making him the first-ever felon nominee-apparent, thereby unleashing one of the biggest wildcards of this election year. Will Trump’s conviction turn off enough voters to make a difference? Polls taken prior to the verdict suggest it could, but it’s going to take a long time before we find out. We’ll also take a look at a second big wildcard—Trump’s diminished cognitive condition—which broke through the information clutter for the first time last week. And we’ll revisit the abortion issue, looking at polling data that suggests Dobbs has created an unprecedented number of single-issue abortion voters.
